It's been 5 magical years that our independent canal side creative space has been operating and we're celebrating by bringing together all that we love for a weekend in July (Fri 5 & Sat 6 2019) showcasing eclectic live music, performances and DJs as well as our eco-fair.! ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿพ

Friday Night's headliner Hotdoggrrrl and The Sesame Bun bring riotous rock'n'roll with elements of Punk, Garage, Reggae and Disco, supported by other local bands including Hi-iD and blues outfit The Dublo as well as artists Fear of Fluffing and Mai Butoh Dance and Wick Radio DJs.

The mighty Albion Soundsystem will be running from 12 to 7pm in our car park for a one off yard party featuring some very special selectors ๐Ÿ”Š๐Ÿ”Š๐Ÿ”Š

We'll also have our 'Future Fair' happening simultaneously; a collection of upcycled, ethically sourced or ecologically sound products sold by independent makers and artisans. The yard will be full of stalls, with our DJs providing the soundtrack to the environmentally conscious retail.

Saturday showcases Growโ€™s eco market โ€˜Future Fairโ€™, with a collection of upcycled, ethically sourced or ecologically sound products sold by independent makers and artisans, including The Herbal Barge, and War is Illegal.  The yard will be transformed with stalls, a pop-up lift gallery, an eco-pod and the Albion Sound System, a community refurbished reggae sound system.  Inside; live experimental Afro-Latin outfit, Tumbaito are suitable headliners with local DJ sets to keep the atmosphere electrified.

Since opening 5 years ago, weโ€™ve been committed to sticking to our founding ethics: DIY; independent; and a self organised creative community with inclusive events, affordable work space and partnerships with other like-minded local businesses and community groups. We operate as an experiment in ethical and sustainable business and pay London Living Wage; source locally and ethically wherever possible and regularly fundraise for local charities. We are also powered by eco-electricity. In addition to the canalside creative space, Grow Studios (which has been running for over 10 years) has helped over 100 local artists, creative practitioners and small businesses to build, create, make and grow.

Our aim is to put people before profits and we hope we provide a space for people to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle in the midst of the capitial city by hosting a diverse programme of music and art events whilst sharing our passion for sustainability.   It has been a testing time for the local community as we respond to rent increases and the regeneration in the area so our birthday is also a chance to thank our patrons, partners and supporters.

As usual, Growโ€™s kitchen partner, Slow Fire London, will have a predominantly vegan and seasonal menu available and Growโ€™s indoor and canal side bars will have a carefully selected range of local, ethical and sustainably sourced drinks - including organic wine, prosecco and cider; lagers and ales from local and independent breweries; Kompassion Kombucha (brewed in Grow Studios); Hackney Herbal Tea; and Union Coffee; the fairtrade cola Ubuntu; Charitea; locally made Rejuce as well as Growโ€™s very own signature drinks such as Vegan Hemp White Russian and Homemade Hackney Spiced Rum.
