Legendary Congolese musician, Santana Mongoley, once lead guitarist for Papa Wemba, will be re-emerging his presence in the London music scene. After marking his spot in Belguim, France and Switzerland, Santana Mongoley and his newly formed 6 piece band will bring their Congolese Ramba Soukous Zouk to London's Grow, Hackney bringing you a taste of former Zaire for one night only
The warm-up and opener of the night will be R&B neo-soul singer PRVNA and her 3 piece band, boasting hypnotic vocals and jazzy dance grooves.
All musicians combined, will close the night with a unique and uplifting fusion of a seventies Congolese sound meeting, the soul and grit of today's South London!
DJs on the night include Niks Delanancy of WXMB 2 and Noods, J Muller of Music Box Radio and Sky, who will be keeping the high energy with Afro-Jazz, Tech and World music

Grow is an independent and self-organised eco-system of studios and a creative space with bars and a kitchen, created out of an old sausage factory by the River Lea in Hackney Wick. We work in partnership with artists, musicians, DJ's and community groups and host a diverse programme of events, including: live jazz and blues, open deck reggae, workshops and talks and art/film festivals.
